Across the Bridge, 2020

In Korean, the word 다리 “Dari” has two definitions: one’s leg, and a bridge. In Across the Bridge “Dari-gun-nuh” 다리건너, dancer’s legs in multiple positions are drawn on the hemp cloth with black ink. These lines of legs form a mountain when brought together and create a landscape. There is no region at home that does not have any mountains and everyone has access to them. And for this scenery, I thought of placing the viewers on a bridge — where the artist is placing a small trick with the Korean word “Dari.”
